Painless Periodontal (Gum) Treatment

Texas has just changed the law, now allowing our hygienists to use lasers to treat periodontal (gum) disease. In addition to the usual cleaning of the tooth surface in the “pocket” below the gum line, we can now use a special low-power laser the size of a big Sharpie marker to painlessly remove bacteria and the inner lining of the pocket. You can actually see this infected tissue dissipate and vaporize. Immediately the remaining tissue is pink, healthier-looking, and is tighter around the neck of the tooth. The exciting thing is that this technology, for the time first ever, gives us promise of re-growing bone around your teeth instead of merely delaying further bone loss.

Some other states have allowed this procedure for several years and it is now available in our office. We first trained in this technology four years ago in Kansas when we knew we couldn’t use it yet, and have just now completed updated training in our office. No hygienist in Texas is better able to bring this advanced technology to you than our Beth Smith (18 years’ experience) and Dana Troglin (24 year s’ experience).

If you have been told you need gum surgery or will probably lose your teeth from gum disease and bone loss, call us and let us give you a different option.
