Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

A missing tooth is often much more than simply an aesthetic problem. Oftentimes, patients with missing teeth experience difficulty when eating or speaking. In addition, the gaps left by missing teeth can lead to more complicated dental issues, such as overcrowding of the teeth and an increased risk for future tooth loss.

A dental implant is an advanced restoration technique designed to replace the missing tooth with results that are long-lasting, require no extra maintenance, and look natural. By anchoring the replacement tooth with a small titanium rod, the stability and durability of the restoration is significantly enhanced. After this artificial tooth root is implanted into the jaw, a porcelain cap is added to complete the tooth replacement for a seamless, beautiful smile.

If you have one or more missing teeth, you may benefit from dental implants. Our patients at The Art of Dentistry have used dental implants to successfully replace a single missing tooth or to replace an entire row of teeth as a more comfortable and secure alternative to traditional dentures. Since the titanium rods are implanted into the jawbone, ideal candidates for dental implants will have sufficient bone density to receive the implant. For some patients, implant supported dentures may be a more suitable method of tooth replacement.
